Festive Cards privacy policy

Festive Cards is a holiday card address book. It is built so that your list stays with you. This page explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
- Everything you enter is stored on your iPhone, and only there.
- There are no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of ours that hold your data.
- There is no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
- Cloud parsing is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, a photo of an envelope can be sent to Google Gemini through Firebase, and only then.
What is stored on your device
Your contacts, addresses, notes, the years you sent and received cards, address history, scan records, envelope photos and your settings are saved in the app's storage on your iPhone. We cannot see them. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Envelope photos you scan are kept on your device and are cleared automatically after about 30 days.
If you choose "Export CSV", the file is created on your device and handed to the share sheet you pick. Where it goes next is up to you.
Scanning envelopes
By default an envelope photo is read on your iPhone using Apple's on-device text recognition and, where available, Apple's on-device intelligence. The photo does not leave your phone.
Optional cloud parsing
In Settings you can turn on "Allow cloud parsing". It is off until you do. When it is on, and the on-device read is unsure about an envelope, the app may send that envelope photo and the text read from it to Google Gemini through Google Firebase so the address can be read more accurately. Google processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not keep a copy and cannot see it. Turn the setting off at any time and nothing further is sent.
Face ID
If you turn on "Require Face ID", the app asks iOS to confirm it is you. We never receive or store your biometric data. iOS handles it.
Contacts access
If you choose to import from your Contacts, the app reads the contacts you select on your device to fill in your list. That information is not sent anywhere.
Purchases
The lifetime unlock is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether the purchase is active.
What we do not do
We do not create accounts, sell or share your data, show ads, use analytics or tracking SDKs, or build profiles about you.
Children
Festive Cards is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
